(Turkish and English)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For the past 10 days, factory workers at \u00d6zak Tekstil, a textile factory in Urfa, southeastern Turkey, have been on strike and fighting heroically against the company, the collaborationist union, and the boss&#8217;s regime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It all started on November 19th, when about 450 workers out of 700 employed at the factory gathered in an assembly and announced that they were leaving the yellow, collaborationist union, \u00d6z \u0130plik-\u0130\u015f (Real Thread Workers Union), a member of the Hak-\u0130\u015f regime trade union confederation, and joining the confrontational union Birtek-Sen (United Textile Workers Union).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" src=\"https:\/\/class-struggle-action.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/GAFrBODXwAEmEI1-2-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2312\" style=\"width:715px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/class-struggle-action.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/GAFrBODXwAEmEI1-2-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/class-struggle-action.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/GAFrBODXwAEmEI1-2-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/class-struggle-action.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/GAFrBODXwAEmEI1-2-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/class-struggle-action.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/GAFrBODXwAEmEI1-2-1536x1152.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/class-struggle-action.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/GAFrBODXwAEmEI1-2.jpg 2000w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The leaders of the company and the \u00d6z \u0130plik-\u0130\u015f leaders reacted by starting to pressure the workers to return to the collaborationist union, summoning them to one-on-one talks in which they were blackmailed, going so far as to threaten the women workers with intrusions into their private lives!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It was when the company went so far as to lay off a worker &#8211; on November 27th &#8211; that about 450 workers went on strike, first organizing a procession inside the factory and then coming out into the street.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On November 29th, the Urfa governorate issued a ban on demonstrations in the city, the police attacked workers outside the factory, and the leader of Birtek-Sen was arrested and then released.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The next day, the army had deployed to prevent workers from approaching the factory entrance thus allowing scabs to enter. Since December 1st, the army has even erected a wall of iron gates and armored cars to prevent workers from entering the street leading to the factory!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On December 2nd, workers demonstrated in downtown Urfa and were again attacked by police forces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On December 5th, on the ninth day of the struggle, the company reported the workers to the court for an &#8220;illegal strike.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On Dec. 6th, the army attacked workers with batons and tear gas, arresting 19 workers and three union leaders, including again the head of Birtek-Sen. Resulting in the workers who were continuing to work inside the factory coming out and joining the strike!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This struggle is very important because the area is an industrial district with many other textile factories, including the city of Gaziantep, 150 km west of Urfa, where Turkish and Syrian workers united in a foundry strike last January, dealing a blow to the racist propaganda of the ruling class.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>This struggle is important also because it points the way for the entire working class in Turkey on striking and organizing outside and against the regime unions!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The strike has gained national prominence. In the city of \u0130zmir (Izmir), workers who are members of Deriteks, the textile workers&#8217; union that is a member of the T\u00fcrk-\u0130\u015f regime trade union confederation, staged a demonstration demanding wage increases and expressed solidarity with their struggling class brothers and sisters at \u00d6zak Tekstil in Urfa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This textile factory has among its main clients; Levi Strauss &amp; Co, a United States based company. This is why as workers in the U.S. and as CSAN (Class Struggle Action Network) we want to express our solidarity with our class brothers and sisters at \u00d6zak Tekstil, claiming their freedom to organize into a genuine fighting union like Birtek-Sen, and to denounce the anti-worker front composed of the bosses, the government and state, and regime unions!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We denounce Levi Strauss &amp; Co. owners and bosses as complicit in the exploitation and oppression of our fellow workers in Turkey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><em><strong>Long live the struggle of the workers of \u00d6zak Tekstil!<br>Long live class unionism, against collaborationist and regime unionism!<br>For the extension of the strike above factory and category boundaries!<br>For international workers&#8217; solidarity and unity!<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>-Class Struggle Action Network<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Contact<\/strong>: class-struggle-action@proton.me<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>December 6th, 2023<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-large-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>ABD&#8217;den T\u00fcrkiye&#8217;de M\u00fccadele Eden \u00d6zak Tekstil \u0130\u015f\u00e7ileriyle Enternasyonalist S\u0131n\u0131f Dayan\u0131\u015fmas\u0131!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">T\u00fcrkiye&#8217;nin g\u00fcneydo\u011fusunda, Urfa&#8217;da faaliyet g\u00f6steren \u00d6zak Tekstil&#8217;de \u00e7al\u0131\u015fan i\u015f\u00e7iler 10 g\u00fcnd\u00fcr grevde ve \u015firkete, i\u015fbirlik\u00e7i sendikaya ve patron rejimine kar\u015f\u0131 kahramanca m\u00fccadele ediyor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Her\u015fey 19 Kas\u0131m&#8217;da fabrikada \u00e7al\u0131\u015fan 700 i\u015f\u00e7iden yakla\u015f\u0131k 450&#8217;sinin bir araya gelerek Hak-\u0130\u015f&#8217;e ba\u011fl\u0131 sar\u0131, i\u015fbirlik\u00e7i sendika \u00d6z \u0130plik-\u0130\u015f&#8217;ten ayr\u0131ld\u0131klar\u0131n\u0131 ve m\u00fccadeleci sendika Birtek-Sen&#8217;e (Birle\u015fik Tekstil \u0130\u015f\u00e7ileri Sendikas\u0131) kat\u0131ld\u0131klar\u0131n\u0131 a\u00e7\u0131klamalar\u0131yla ba\u015flad\u0131.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u015eirket y\u00f6neticileri ve \u00d6z \u0130plik-\u0130\u015f y\u00f6neticileri buna tepki olarak i\u015f\u00e7ilere i\u015fbirlik\u00e7i sendikaya d\u00f6nmeleri i\u00e7in bask\u0131 yapmaya ba\u015flad\u0131lar, onlar\u0131 bire bir g\u00f6r\u00fc\u015fmelere \u00e7a\u011f\u0131rarak \u015fantaj yapt\u0131lar, kad\u0131n i\u015f\u00e7ileri \u00f6zel hayatlar\u0131na m\u00fcdahale etmekle tehdit edecek kadar ileri gittiler!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u015eirket bir i\u015f\u00e7iyi i\u015ften \u00e7\u0131karmak noktas\u0131na geldi\u011finde &#8211; 27 Kas\u0131m&#8217;da &#8211; yakla\u015f\u0131k 450 i\u015f\u00e7i greve gitti, \u00f6nce fabrika i\u00e7inde bir y\u00fcr\u00fcy\u00fc\u015f d\u00fczenledi ve ard\u0131ndan soka\u011fa \u00e7\u0131kt\u0131.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">29 Kas\u0131m&#8217;da Urfa Valili\u011fi \u015fehirdeki g\u00f6sterileri yasaklad\u0131, polis fabrika d\u0131\u015f\u0131ndaki i\u015f\u00e7ilere sald\u0131rd\u0131 ve Birtek-Sen lideri g\u00f6zalt\u0131na al\u0131nd\u0131 ve sonra serbest b\u0131rak\u0131ld\u0131.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ertesi g\u00fcn jandarma, i\u015f\u00e7ilerin fabrika giri\u015fine yakla\u015fmas\u0131n\u0131 engellemek i\u00e7in konu\u015flanarak grev k\u0131r\u0131c\u0131lar\u0131n i\u00e7eri girmesine izin verdi. 1 Aral\u0131k&#8217;tan bu yana jandarma, i\u015f\u00e7ilerin fabrikaya giden caddeye girmesini engellemek i\u00e7in demir kap\u0131lar ve z\u0131rhl\u0131 ara\u00e7lardan olu\u015fan bir duvar \u00f6rd\u00fc!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">2 Aral\u0131k&#8217;ta Urfa \u015fehir merkezinde g\u00f6steri yapan i\u015f\u00e7iler bu kez polis g\u00fc\u00e7lerinin sald\u0131r\u0131s\u0131na u\u011frad\u0131.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">5 Aral\u0131k&#8217;ta, m\u00fccadelenin dokuzuncu g\u00fcn\u00fcnde, \u015firket i\u015f\u00e7ileri &#8220;yasad\u0131\u015f\u0131 grev&#8221; yapt\u0131klar\u0131 gerek\u00e7esiyle mahkemeye verdi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">6 Aral\u0131k&#8217;ta jandarma i\u015f\u00e7ilere cop ve g\u00f6z ya\u015fart\u0131c\u0131 gazla sald\u0131rarak 19 i\u015f\u00e7iyi ve aralar\u0131nda yine Birtek-Sen ba\u015fkan\u0131n\u0131n da bulundu\u011fu \u00fc\u00e7 sendika y\u00f6neticisini g\u00f6zalt\u0131na ald\u0131. Bunun sonucunda fabrika i\u00e7inde \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmaya devam eden i\u015f\u00e7iler d\u0131\u015far\u0131 \u00e7\u0131karak greve kat\u0131ld\u0131lar!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bu m\u00fccadele \u00e7ok b\u00fcy\u00fck \u00f6nem ta\u015f\u0131maktad\u0131r \u00e7\u00fcnk\u00fc T\u00fcrk ve Suriyeli i\u015f\u00e7ilerin ge\u00e7en Ocak ay\u0131nda d\u00f6k\u00fcm grevinde birle\u015ferek egemen s\u0131n\u0131f\u0131n \u0131rk\u00e7\u0131 propagandas\u0131na darbe vurdu\u011fu b\u00f6lge, Urfa&#8217;n\u0131n 150 km bat\u0131s\u0131ndaki Gaziantep \u015fehri de dahil olmak \u00fczere, bir\u00e7ok ba\u015fka tekstil fabrikas\u0131n\u0131n da bulundu\u011fu bir sanayi b\u00f6lgesidir.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Bu m\u00fccadele ayn\u0131 zamanda T\u00fcrkiye&#8217;deki t\u00fcm i\u015f\u00e7i s\u0131n\u0131f\u0131n\u0131n rejim sendikalar\u0131 d\u0131\u015f\u0131nda ve onlara kar\u015f\u0131 grev ve \u00f6rg\u00fctlenmesinin yolunu g\u00f6stermesi a\u00e7\u0131s\u0131ndan da \u00f6nemlidir!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Grev ulusal \u00e7apta \u00f6nem kazanm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. \u0130zmir&#8217;de, T\u00fcrk-\u0130\u015f&#8217;e ba\u011fl\u0131 tekstil i\u015f\u00e7ileri sendikas\u0131 Deriteks&#8217;e \u00fcye i\u015f\u00e7iler, \u00fccret art\u0131\u015f\u0131 talebiyle bir eylem yaparak Urfa&#8217;daki \u00d6zak Tekstil&#8217;de \u00e7al\u0131\u015fan m\u00fccadeleci s\u0131n\u0131f karde\u015fleriyle dayan\u0131\u015fma i\u00e7inde olduklar\u0131n\u0131 ifade ettiler.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bu tekstil fabrikas\u0131n\u0131n ana m\u00fc\u015fterileri aras\u0131nda Amerika Birle\u015fik Devletleri merkezli Levi Strauss &amp; Co \u015firketi bulunuyor.
