Striking Kaiser employees, working across California, Colorado, Washington and Oregon are entering their 2nd day in a 3 day strike meant to turn up the heat in bargaining negotiations. The 75,000 workers on strike comprise 40% of Kaiser Permanente’s staff in what is the largest health care strike in US history. Should this limited strike not get the workers the goods, Kaiser Permanente will see workers back on the lines in November.
It is both exciting and important the spreading and generalizing of the strike. On Wednesday, approximately 200 workers from Kaiser facilities in Virginia and Washington, DC, joined the picket lines too.
Join these workers on the picket in solidarity. Think not just of how you personally can show up, but how you too can help the expansion of the strike whether thats bringing your coworkers out to the pickets, passing solidarity resolutions in your union, etc
